In Basque country, what I have discovered is that they have this "national identity" typeface. Which I think is fascinating. Why is this typeface so imbedded in basque identity. You see it absolutely everywhere. Important feature of this face is the A. It has a bar on top of it. Normally such "national" typefaces have deep historic roots, like: uncial, blackletter etc. But here, this face looks like it came straight from the 60s. I wonder how it made it to such status?
